Christmas marketing to make your salon stand out to your local customers!

The holidays are coming, and we’re going to help you use the momentum the holiday spirit and Hallmark movies are creating to increase your revenues for your salon! This involves setting up a strategic partnership with a local coffee shop. Not a Starbucks but a small family-owned shop. 

What is one thing that everyone loves loves loves during the holidays? Hot chocolate. As it gets cooler and the lights start coming out, people always gravitate to hot chocolate.  Provides can provide you with a large number of people you can easily target and the smart salon owner will see the opportunity for many new clients, and you can be on the receiving end of all these new clients. During the holiday season, a typical small shop will sell about $50 of normal hot chocolate a day. Here is how you use this information to gain new customers and how to market to those potential new customers. I've used this exact marketing strategy to grow my salon and have been on the other side as also a coffee shop owner and used this with other business owners to market their businesses. 

Offer the shop to buy the first $50 worth of hot chocolate on whatever day you pick. I would pick a Monday or Friday. They will get the opportunity to market that on that day, hot chocolate is free and provided by you! That will drive the sales and get them more shares and likes on Facebook. With each cup of hot chocolate, they put your business card into the sleeve so each person that you purchased yummy drink for will know it came from your salon, and they will have your business card in their hands!

So for about $50, you will increase your marketing reach by using the coffee shops marketing. You will get more likes on Facebook; you will create greater brand awareness, and people who don't even know you (yet) will have an appreciation for you because you purchased hot chocolate for them. During the holiday season, people will be looking to shop locally as much as possible, and while they are wanting to shop locally, they will already be appreciative of your business, even if they have never been in your salon before!

Now keep in mind, you can ask to do more than just a day, you can do as many days as you like, or a week, or whatever. Remember, the people who own these shops are just like you, small business owners looking to create more clients during the holidays. If they can market, they have free hot chocolate; they will almost every time jump all over it. 

You also can ask to sponsor the drink sleeves they use. A box of 1,000 drink sleeves can run about $150. You can propose that you purchase the sleeves for them, print on them, and include your logo as well. Most coffee shops use a typical ink stamp to get their logo on the sleeve; you can make those at Office Max and provide them for them. 

It's very cheap and effective marketing that will get you in front of a new group of people you may not already reach. So there you go, effective cheap, effective, and easy marketing for hairstylists and salons!
